Overview

As the need for expert palliative services expands exponentially in acute care and community settings, there continues to be a call for tools and resources with which to improve quality outcomes. This conference brings together palliative care professionals with the common goal of identifying and supporting best practices and innovative collaborations in the care continuum.

The Carolinas Center Annual Palliative Care Summit is designed for physicians, nurses, social workers, nursing home administrators, chaplains, patients, consumers and anyone interested in best practices, quality, and policy issues related to palliative care, advance care planning and end of life care.

  • Provide health care team members with current knowledge to deliver the best quality of life for patients and their families from inpatient to community health care.
  • Identify effective communication strategies to assist family members, including children, in their bereavement.
  • Identify strategies to foster development of resiliency in health care providers in palliative care.
